Acquisition

Learning through acquisition is what learners are doing when they are listening to a lecture or podcast, reading from books or websites, or watching demos/videos. 

There are core tools in the VLE that support “Acquisition” learning types. Click the information icons (i) to find out more about each potential tool.

In addition to the core tools in the VLE that support “Acquisition” learning types, the university also supports other tools identified below, which we refer to as VLE+ tools:

As you develop your Acquisition learning activities, think about how you can make the learning experience more accessible for all students – ask yourself the following questions: 

  • Will you make materials available before class? (This is highly recommended.)
  • Are a variety of formats available (not only text)?
  • Will videos be captioned and transcripts provided?
